SURF INTERNET BEYOND LANGUAGE BORDERS

MakerFaire-468.jpg

While the rest of the design community engaged in long-winded theoretical discussion, attendees at this year’s Maker Faire in San Mateo, CA were busy making things. Just wrapped up last night, this weekend-long collection of homemade and handcrafted technology is the brainchild of Make Magazine, and has got to be one of the coolest, most welcoming design-related events we’ve seen in a good long while.

Core77-style coverage of the event starts tomorrow, so expect interviews, video clips, and photo galleries, featuring the likes of TechShop, ThingM, Bug Labs, Engineers Without Borders, and a few of the minds responsible for organizing the Faire and the magazine both.
